Our Story

Jim Kloster was a third-generation North Dakota farmer, and he loved good old-fashioned food!  Driven by his passion for creating the perfect seasoning blend for all the foods he loved, Jim created Kloster Salt.

Jim tirelessly worked to perfect Kloster Salt. Every ingredient reflects his favorite tastes as well as the positive energy that went into doing what he loved – creating a product with his secret spices and watching the smiles on faces when he shared it with family and friends.  Over the years, making a batch of Kloster Salt was an activity Jim invited his family to help with. When they created that perfect seasoning blend together, you’d hear Jim say his signature phrase “Pretty Good Then…” – hence, Kloster Salt Company was formed.
